Experimentation
So I saw the movie “The Golden Compass” and couldn’t get over the visuals in the film. I immediately fell in love with the Victorian era clockwork machinery look of the equipment used in the film. Being inspired, I decided to draw a zeppelin, but my normal graphic style wasn’t going to cut it. I decided to take a stab at digital painting, and this is what I came up with.

It’s not perfect, or finished. I want to keep refining it and playing with the style but overall I’m happy with the way it’s turning out.
Just wanted to share a work in progress with you folks, the fine members of the internets.

Mmm…. I love it! Great great rendering, Sean! It is lovely. Now I’d like to see the movie. They call that style “steampunk” by the way – I learned that on Wikipedia.
