Sorry, Internet

So, I’ve been gone for quite a while. I’m sorry! Life has a way of ruining my ability to cater to my internet fans. The holidays, and all that, blah blah blah, excuses upon excuses. I’ll try to be better, I promise!

I do have news, though. That will be good to hear, yes?

Item number 1: I will be starting a new webcomic project in the near future entitled Wanton Instruction. It will be a series of instruction manual comics, geared towards the ridiculous. The idea sprung from the comic I created last minute for Baltimore Comic Con called “How To Fight an Octopus”. (I debated putting a PDF of that comic in here, but I decided to leave that for the first comic when the site launches). It will be for free, of course, so stay tuned for that. I’ll be sure to pimp the SHIT out of it here.

Item B: I am forming a new design company that I will work under. Look out as Stroodl Creative takes over the design market. (anybody want to work for me? or maybe give me some money to start a company? I swear it is a totally legit investment, almost none of your money will go towards toys and beer.)

Con Recap

Comic con went really well!  I sold about 35 of my comics, very unexpected.  People seemed to be very receptive of it.  I drew a bunch of (really bad) sketches.  To anyone who got one… I’m sorry… I’ll do better next time.

Overall, people seemed pretty pleased with my comic and stickers.  Lots of smiles and laughs, which is all I could ask for, really.  Makes me kind of want to keep going with this instruction manual comic thing… STAY TUNED.

Destination: Comic-Con

Baltimore! This weekend I will be at Baltimore Comic-Con at a table in artist alley.  I’ll be co-displaying with a friend and co-worker, Brad Samuelson, and his brother, who run Oddnik Comics.  Also there with us will be Ben Woods, author of The Developers.  I’ll be with stickers, as well as a brand new mini-comic How to Fight an Octopus.  Be sure to come check it out, it’s sure to be very fun!

AWAAAAAAAY!

If only my flying pig could make it in…

Anyone that knows me could tell you that I am quite a fan of the comic book medium.  I read them feverishly as a child and like to believe that I maintain at least close the same pace as an adult(am I really an adult now?).

This leads me to talk about Flight Comics.  Flight is a yearly collection of comics started by Daisy Kutter writer/illustrator, Kazu Kibuishi.  It houses small stories written and illustrated by many of the comic book worlds lesser known and independent artists.  Most beautifully illustrated, as well as exquisitely written, each issue is an enjoyable read for anyone, whether interested in comic books or not.

The newest edition will hit stores this summer,  July 10, 2007 to be exact, and I recommend all of you pick it up even if it’s just for the beautifully illustrated cover art.
