Knitting Ninja REDUX
So, my friend Heidi inquired this past weekend about an old drawing of mine. One that she had asked for me to do, back in the early days of college. Specifically she asked if I still had it. Well, I poured through my old files and actually found the image. It looks something like this…
Well, looking back on the image, I was very disappointed. In retrospect, it wasn’t a very good drawing. It’s funny how you look back on your old work and think about all the things you’ve learned and how you’ve improved since that point in your career. Well, looking at it gave me the inspiration to have another go at it. This time, I think it turned out a whole lot better.

New Drawing, and more to come
Hey all, I’ve made a new illustration, you can check it out here, or go over to the illustration section. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
Also, I’ve purchased a new program called “VectorDesigner” so expect to see plenty of other drawings as I play with this new tool to see how I like it.

Experimentation
So I saw the movie “The Golden Compass” and couldn’t get over the visuals in the film. I immediately fell in love with the Victorian era clockwork machinery look of the equipment used in the film. Being inspired, I decided to draw a zeppelin, but my normal graphic style wasn’t going to cut it. I decided to take a stab at digital painting, and this is what I came up with.

It’s not perfect, or finished. I want to keep refining it and playing with the style but overall I’m happy with the way it’s turning out.
Just wanted to share a work in progress with you folks, the fine members of the internets.

New Illustration
So it’s been a while since I did an illustration for a client, but when I saw the call for artists to participate in a non-profit coloring book, I had to answer. The organization is called Karma Dogs and they use rescued dogs as “therapy dogs” and try to improve communication and social skills, as well as literacy, in children. I thought it was a great cause, and wanted to help out with this coloring book project. Click the thumbnail for my submission. My subject was “ask before you pet.”
You can check out the rest of my illustrations here.
