Artscape 2007

So the beautiful city of Baltimore holds a festival of sorts every year, given the sacred name of Artscape.  Inside this Scape of Arts, one can find many treasures of the fancy variety.

Essentially, Artscape is a giant outdoor festival including many things.  Art, crafts, music, food, all being sold and exhibited or purchased by citizens of Maryland.  (and from what I understand, some surrounding states as well)  It was a pretty good time, as far as festivals are concerned.  Some of the highlights were the outdoor sculptures, as well as the “art car” parade.  I suggest that come Artscape 2008, if you’re anywhere near baltimore, you come check it out for yourself.

Also, pictures!

Weird performance art is a good way to start this off, I supposechildren love zombie squirrels, apparentlyI very much wanted to climb this thing. Somehow I doubted it's structural integrity.gnome people! notice that all their signs are written in tazmanian devil-esque random characters. They also spoke a secret mystery language, not only to each other, but loudly in the faces of onlookers, as if they knew what was going on.gnome sculpture. Oddly...it had nothing to do with the gnome people. I was hoping it was a monument to their fallen warriors.prayer booth, a very subtle, and yet totally awesome sculpturenotice that this art car is made almost entirely of baby arms. I am curious to see the baby-parts junk yard they came from.one of the coolest art cars had little pockets for small toysbreakdancers!there was a very strange, and somewhat cool little alleyway party going on near the festival. Apparently there's some really good graffiti artists in baltimore, I had no idea.another sweet art car.
